It was a rainy cold weekend and I decided to stay home. I continued to work on my strip donation quilts. Two have been delivered and three more (the ones on the right) are ready. The three on the left have batting and the backing and quilting is happening soon. My goal was to have these done in 2 months. I'm on track. Find the story about these quilts HERE.
In addition, I bravely opened my tub full of UFO's. I really hate to have UFO's so I attempt to finish everything I start because if they go into the UFO tub, they may never see the light of day again. I wrote a post about this a couple of years ago HERE. So, I am committed to finishing these projects. Hold me accountable please.
#1 I think this is a quick finish
#2 One of the three patterns from Wildfire Designs on my list.
#3 I started this about 15 years ago. I keep putting it off. I really like the pattern and I still like the fabrics so.... I'll try to finish the top.
#4 A quilting project
#5 I took the class for this lovely at the 2018 Road To California Quilt Show. I really love it and would like to finish it, the top and the quilting.
#6 Another Wildfire Designs Pattern.
#7 A wall quilt from Wildfire Designs.
# 8 I only finished 8 Splendid Sampler blocks. I need to figure out what to do with them.
I'm giving my self 6 months but I give myself permission to extend the goal date.
Wow -- you have so many beautiful projects "in the works!" I know what you mean about the weight of those UFOs. I was a much happier quilter when I only worked on one project at a time, from start to finish. But that was before the Internet got involved -- now I'm exposed to so much more inspiration and possibilities than I could ever possibly finish. Good luck with your goals. You can do it!!
ReplyDeleteI am a great starter. I have to push myself to finish. I get overwhelmed if there are too many projects in my UFO tub. There just aren't enough hours in the day for all of the projects I want to make;-)- and finish.
DeleteHi Kathi! So many UFOs just awaiting some attention. Hmm, how big are those Splendid Sampler blocks? They kind of make me think of a wall hanging representing a welcoming home, with just one more block for a 3x3. I see that you are going to pack up and head south in just a few months. Are you able to sew and quilt while you are in your fifth wheel? That trip to Bellingham sounds LONG but it is one I'd like to take in the opposite direction when I retire. I hope you've made just a little headway on one of these UFOs this week! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for the Splendid Sampler blocks, thank you. The trip to Bellingham is very relaxing and I do bring my machine and projects. I have a project to do on the ferry and a few projects for the road-in the fifth wheel.
DeleteYou certainly have enough to keep you occupied for six+ months. My suggestion is, start with the one that's almost done, then work up to the hard, what-do-I-do-with-this UFO's. Hopefully, you may gain momentum along the way!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the suggestion. I completed the table runner. I am stuck on the placemats because I need a binding fabric. They are ready to bind. I have been doing a little one one of the items each day.
DeleteHmmmm, I know what you mean about UFOs. Perhaps you can choose one and work on it till it's finished.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do is list six, then roll a dice each Monday morning, and work on that particular project all week. And do it again the following week. I really look forward to Monday's and often spend extra time in my sewing room to either finish my project, or bring it to a stage I'm happy to leave it at.
What a great idea, rolling a dice. I think deciding which one to work on is the hardest part of the finish. I'll do that, thank you Jenny.
DeleteAll beautiful UFOs. That's what I have been concentrating on for 2018. So many UFOs and WIPs here.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. How is it going?
