Another 10 Inch Square Quilt

I am working on my 4th 10-inch square pattern.  For this quilt I used a Kaffe Fassett 10 inch 'Lipstick' pack from the Classics Collection and a half stack of Kona Cotton Birds of Paradise Collection.

I knew I wanted to do something with half square triangles so I sewed a bunch together.

From each set of a solid and print 10 in square I was able to get 8 half square triangle blocks.

The Kaffe Fassett bundle had 2 squares of 8 different fabrics and 3 squares of 2 different fabrics.  I used on square for the half square triangle blocks and I cut a 4.5 inch square from the second square of each of the different fabrics.  I arranged and rearranged the squares and finally decided on this block.

I had some great suggestions for the name of my last 10 inch square quilt.  I would love suggestions for this one.  I am so bad at naming quilts.  Any ideas?

  2. Great design! I enjoy Kaffe in small doses. The solids tone down the (busy) POP!

  6. How about calling it "10 - 4" since (according to Wikipedia) in CB slang it means "ok, we understand your message" --- and we do, you like working with layer cake squares to make quilts! I just cut some out myself to make one, so I get it.

  8. Love the richness of these blocks.

I have a question though, what measurement did you use to get those 8 HST plus the center square? I printed it out and think I might have a layer cake to process with this technique. lol and Thanks!
