Lake Pleasant Arizona

Blue water and blue sky, what more could a person ask for.

Lake Pleasant is one of the 13 parks in the Maricopa County system.  Find the link to the park website HERE.  You can use the pull-down menu to explore the Maricopa County Parks and there is also a place where you can make reservations.  There is an $8.00 non-refundable reservation fee for online reservations.  If you plan to visit the park for a day, you can just drive in and the fee is $7.00 per car.  If you want to stay, you will need a reservation.  The campsites have electric and water hookups, and a centrally located dump for your sewer and gray water.  You must make reservations months in advance however.  These campgrounds fill up fast.  If you are unable to make reservations because parks are full, you can always pack up  your car and spend the day enjoying what the park has to offer.

Lake Pleasant offers trails and water for water sports and old water dogs.  Our day at Lake Pleasant was spent on the shores of the lake.  Our 12 year old chocolate lab, Cessna was very happy with our choice.  She couldn’t stay out of the water.

Sea Eagle makes an inflatable paddle board for the water sport lover on the go.  This lake is perfect for paddle boarding because the water is calm and there is a lot of area for paddling.

The only thing not pleasant about this park is these little stickers.  The dog found them to be very unpleasant.

Coffee time and a little air show between paddles was nice.

This park is at the top or our list of places to visit in Arizona because:

1.  There is water for boating and paddle boarding and the dog loves it.

2.  It is easily accessible by road.

3.  It is not busy.  There are lots of people at the park but it's big enough to absorb them.

4.  There are lots of things you can do here like hike, bike, run, and play in the water.

5.  The campgrounds are clean and quiet and have a great view of the lake.

You will want to add this park to your list of things to do in the Phoenix area.
